Neftaly Bookkeeping Fellow
The Neftaly Bookkeeping Fellow is a key support role within Neftaly’s Finance and Accounting Department. This fellowship is designed for individuals who have a strong interest in financial management, accounting processes, and nonprofit operations. The fellow contributes to accurate recordkeeping, compliance, and financial reporting while gaining valuable hands-on experience in bookkeeping and finance within a dynamic and impact-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, receipts, and invoices.
- Support the reconciliation of bank statements and financial transactions.
- Help with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure all financial records are properly filed, organised, and archived.
- Assist in monitoring accounts payable and receivable.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with internal financial procedures and external regulations.
- Support audit preparation by organising documents and verifying financial entries.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Good understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Familiarity with accounting software or spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Sage, QuickBooks is a plus).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.
Qualifications:
- A qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Financial Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in finance, accounting, or admin support is an advantage but not required.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a professional finance environment.
