The Neftaly Bookkeeping University Graduate Intern position is a structured internship program designed for recent university graduates who are eager to gain practical experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and nonprofit financial management. This role supports Neftaly’s Finance and Accounting team by contributing to accurate financial recordkeeping and day-to-day financial operations.

Purpose of the Internship:
To provide university graduates with hands-on experience in bookkeeping and finance, helping them apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting while supporting Neftaly’s mission of transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions such as payments, receipts, and invoices.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
  • Support reconciliation of bank accounts, supplier balances, and petty cash.
  • Help with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Organise and manage both digital and physical financial records.
  • Assist with audit preparations and compliance with financial policies.
  • Use accounting software and spreadsheets to track financial data.
  • Participate in team meetings, finance workshops, and training sessions.

Skills and Competencies Developed:

  • Practical knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Excel)
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and time-management skills
