Neftaly Community Development Specialist

The Neftaly Community Development Specialist is a senior role dedicated to designing, guiding, and enhancing high-impact community-based programmes. This position is ideal for a skilled development practitioner with deep knowledge of social development frameworks, policy analysis, programme design, and community engagement strategies. The specialist provides technical expertise and leadership in delivering sustainable solutions that address poverty, inequality, unemployment, and other social issues affecting communities.

Role Overview:

As a Community Development Specialist, you will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of Neftaly’s flagship community initiatives. You will serve as a subject matter expert, mentor teams, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure evidence-based, inclusive, and sustainable programme delivery. Your input will shape national and regional strategies and position Neftaly as a leader in community advancement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and refine community development models, frameworks, and toolkits.
• Conduct in-depth community assessments, policy reviews, and stakeholder analyses.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to officers, interns, volunteers, and partners.
• Lead monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes and ensure data-driven decision-making.
• Coordinate strategic partnerships with government departments, NGOs, donors, and research institutions.
• Develop proposals, position papers, reports, and publications that showcase impact and innovation.
• Facilitate high-level training workshops and capacity-building sessions for internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate:

• Honours or Master’s degree in Development Studies, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related field.
• At least 5–7 years of progressive experience in the community development or NGO sector.
• Expertise in designing and managing large-scale community programmes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Familiarity with national development priorities, legislation, and SDGs.
• Experience working across diverse cultural, rural, and urban contexts.
